We were lucky with our stay: got to release hatchlings, watch a green turtle nest and enjoyed the agamis and all kinds of other birds and wildlife. The accommodations were simple but being elevated, and having an attached bathroom were essential for many older travelers. The food will filling and I looked forward to every meal. Given the rain and humidity, it is important for visitors to bring bug spray and rain gear. I brought gaiters as well, and that helped with managing very deep mud and water. Visitors should also be told to bring binoculars. An afternoon ride along the canal gave the opportunity to see water birds more easily. Also a nighttime walk around the compound is also fun. With Claudio leading, a group of us, enjoyed toads, snakes, small frogs, interesting insects, and rare lizards. One other suggestion for visitors would be to bring a small rechargeable fan for sleeping.

We saw so many animals in our time at Pacuare, it was incredible. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the food was lovely too. I wish we’d booked longer there.

Llegamos a la reserva con mucha ilusión y con algo de incertidumbre, pero desde luego superó todas nuestras expectativas. La experiencia es increíble, los trabajadores y voluntarios son encantadores y el trabajo con las tortugas es admirable. No es un resort, ni un sitio de lujos, pero no falta de nada. Hace calor y hay bichitos ( como en todo Costa Rica). Te lo explican todo con mucha paciencia y detalle. Las patrullas nocturnas merecen mucho la pena y el paseo para visitar las garzas es muy agradable. Después de finalizar nuestro viaje por Costa Rica, nuestra hija de 11 años nos dice que lo mejor de todo el viaje fueron estos días. Muchas gracias

Het was een speciale omgeving vol jonge assistant-recherchers. Onze gids Camille verzorgde ons verblijf en activiteiten. Kamer was mooi met uitzicht op deels zee deels bomen met een luiaard. Eten was OK maar basic. De excursie naar het eiland met Agami-reigers die er nesten was max. De schilpadden eierlegging hebben we helaas niet gezien. Avond 1 was het 2 km van ons vandaan, avond 2 onweerde het en was het onveilig om het strand op te gaan. We hebben genoten van het verblijf.

Si tienen la oportunidad de visitar la reserva, no lo piensen dos veces. Es una experiencia que lo conecta a uno con la naturaleza y le permite valorar lo importante que es trabaja en favor de la flora y fauna. En el caso de la tortuga baula, es increíble verlas llegar a la playa, cómo su instinto las llevan a buscar el mejor lugar para depositar sus huevos y luego estar junto a ella hasta que regresa al mar y se pierde entre las olas... =)
